Mary Ann Pitts

Mary Ann was born on March 22nd, 1912 in Spring City, TN to her father Arch Clayton Mitchell and Mother Marchie Bledsoe Mitchell.

Mrs. Pitts was a positive influence on hundreds of young lives as a house parent and dietician for over 15 years at the Vine Street Orphanage / Children’s home located in Brainerd, TN. where she met and adopted her only child Evelyn (Eve).at the age of five.

She is preceded by her brothers; Walter Mitchell of Spring City, George Mitchell of Ooltewah, Burch Mitchell of Chattanooga, Arch Mitchell of Athens, GA. and sisters Ada Crawley and Bessie May.

She is survived by her brothers Jack Mitchell, of Hixson, Paul and Neute Mitchell of Redbank, daughter Evelyn Pitts King Milledgeville, GA, grandchildren Lauren King, Candice Rosenberg, and Keith King and granddaughters Georgia and Kinsley.

Funeral service will be held Tuesday at 11:30 a.m. in the North Chapel.

The family will receive friends Monday from 4-6 p.m. at the funeral home.

Arrangements are by Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson, Tennessee.
