Mary was a longtime resident of the East Chattanooga area. She was a former member, Sunday School teacher and played the piano at Silvercrest Baptist Church and Brainerd Hills Chapel.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James “Duck” Daugherty, Sr. and a daughter, Angela Shadwick.
Mary is survived by her four children, Brenda Gail (Russell) Rhodes, Iva Faye (Tommy) Gann, James Lewis (Donna) Daugherty, Jr. and Brian Lewis (Kimberly) Daugherty; twelve grandchildren, Jamie and Shaun Rochester, Christy and Christopher Gann, Daniel, Jason and Heather Daugherty, Brian Daugherty, Jr., April Wright, Melissa Schleif, Chantale Smith, and Joshua Shadwick; twelve great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren; her friend Betty Jo Totherow.
The family will receive friends from 12 to 8 p.m. on Friday and 12 (noon) to 1 p.m. on Saturday at the North Chapel.
Services for Mary will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday at the North Chapel with Rev. Gene Humphreys, Rev. Tommy Gann and Rev. Randy Bell officiating. Burial will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
