Mark Robert Willmann, 59 years of age, was welcomed into the kingdom of Heaven on Monday, October 13, 2014. Born April 16, 1955 in Flint, MI to William and Joan (Lee) Willmann. He spent his childhood in Missouri with his brother, Mike, before the family moved back to Michigan. He graduated from Ferris State University in Big Rapids, MI in 1977 with a degree in Automotive and Heavy Equipment Technology. He began his career at Rockwell in Troy, MI where he met the love of his life, Linda Louise Luce. They were married on September 5, 1981. Together they had 2 sons, Justin and Benjamin. Aside from dedicating his life to raising his family, Mark worked in the automotive industry, including Williams International, American Motors, Jeep, and then with the Chrysler Group in Auburn Hills, MI for 30 years.
Mark poured love and kindness into every life that he touched. He spent his very active life volunteering his time at their church, St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Walled Lake, MI, and building homes with Habitat for Humanity in Pontiac, MI. Mark and Linda moved to Signal Mountain, TN in November 2012 with their 2 dogs, Josie and Toby. Mark enjoyed walking with their dogs, camping with his family, and volunteering as a crew leader with Habitat for Humanity of Chattanooga.
Mark stunned everyone he knew by having two heart attacks, which he quickly recovered from, only to be stilled by many strokes following his surgery which led to his death. Mark is survived by his beloved wife of 33 years, Linda, their children, Justin (Jennifer) and Ben (Mikaela), mother, Joan, and brother, Mike (Julie). He was preceded in death by his father, Bill, in March 2014. His life will be celebrated at a memorial service held at Signal Mountain Presbyterian Church on October 25, 2014 and in Michigan "sometime in November". He leaves an inspiring legacy of always reaching out a hand to those in need. In lieu of flowers, please donate in Mark’s name to Habitat for Humanity of Chattanooga.
