Mark touched all the people who were blessed to know him. He was a friend to everyone. His loss has put a void in all our lives. Mark had a smile on his face in conversation every time I spoke with him. Always!!! He was friendly, dependable and honest. Very few people in life give others the secutiry Mark was able to share. Not once did I hear a cross word from him about life. Even in pressure situations he held his stature with dignity. Such a great man with a fantastic influence on all the people around him. We have known Mark for almost 30 years, having had the privilege of worshipping with him and his family at Smyrna and Burnt Hickory Church of Christ.  My memories of Mark are very dear to me.  He was a true friend who was never too busy to listen.  He did not have to be in the limelight -- he was happiest when he was helping others quietly in his own cheerful way.  We lost a great man, but I know we will see Mark again and he will have a good joke to share.  Diane, Lisa and Markie -- may God provide you with the peace that passes all understanding.  We hurt for you.

Sundays at Burnt Hickory weren't complete unless I had a short visit with Mark. A good man who loved family and friends. He was a blessing to all who knew him. We will see him again one day.

Mark had such a positive outlook. We spent our High School years together in St. Paul, Minnesota. We were best friends and I remember push starting his old 64' VW Bug to drive around the area.  Great memories... a wonderful man. I'll miss you dearly. Tomo

Our hearts are breaking for you right now.  Our fondest memories of Mark will always revolve around Youth and Young Singles activities.  You and Mark both have always had an ability to love us where we were (even when it was ugly.) Mark and you both have been a part of shaping many young women and men for the Lord, we are glad to be among that list!  Our prayers for the days to come that you will be overwhelmed by God's Love! Mark's smile was ever-present, in good times and bad.  A good, kind, gentle, strong man.  I hope folks will remember me as kindly as they do Mark.

I had the pleasure of working with Mark in Savannah, Ga. I dont believe I ever spoke to Mark when he did not have a kind word or humorous comment. What a great guy, I am honored to have known him. My prayers are with his family. May God never let us forget, but allow us to heal.

Mark always impressed me as a true "behind the scenes" servant who was unassuming and always positive even if the nature of the service wasn't necessarily all that fun.  For example, he was *always* asked to help people move ;-).

Mark and i go way back to 1984 when we worked at lockheed ga. We became close friends and would talk about most anything.Our faith in God was always a big topic.Mark  was a true friend.Guys go through life meeting only a handful of men that they can call sincere  friends.Mark was definitely one of those for me.The last time we talked was last week on the seventh.I had no thoughts  it would be my last with him on this side of heaven.he and i talked of our struggles in life and how God had helped  us to continue to be an over comer.We both knew  God had to be in all we did. Mark loved his wife and kids.He would do anything to help you out.We always kidded him about coming over to the shop to push cars.it seemed like every time he came over we had him pushing cars.he was known as big Mark to all of us.His son would be with him at times and Mark called him little Marky.He wasn't but about 4 years old at the time. I  was working on a Honda Goldwing for him and some of our last conversation was about it.Mark never sugarcoated issues we talked about.It was what it was.I know without a doubt in my heart that he is with Jesus right now,not because he was a great guy but because he had took on the righteousness of Jesus Christ.He knew there was nothing....nothing he could do to earn his way to heaven,and because of his faith in Jesus ability to allow him to enter in to heaven is why he is there now waiting for us to come also.Don't put off another day what God is prompting your heart to do today..Today is the day of salvation says the Lord.He don't ask  you to clean yourself up before you come,he does ask for you to make him Lord and Savior and he will then start the cleaning process on you .some clean quickly some take a while . The main thing is to get to him and surrender your all.You will never be sorry you made him King .Let us remember that all things are for Gods glory.God's ways are higher than ours and we may never understand why God had to take Mark from our presense but you can bet that God will use it to his glory.As a christian I may have questions but in the end we have to trust his judgement in the situations of life that make us ask why.May god bless Marks family always and strengthen them with his grace at their time of need.
