Margaret R. Jackson, 96, of Hixson, passed away at her residence on Monday, September 23, 2019. Margaret was born on Montlake Mountain on September 30, 1922 and has been a lifelong resident of the Falling Water Community. She was employed with Davenport Hosiery Mill and retired from Dupont Corporation with over 27 years of service. Margaret attended Falling Water Baptist Church and loved to travel with the Falling Water and Red Bank Senior Neighbors.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lillie Mae (Thurman) Jackson and Frank Jackson, step-mother, Irene (Moody) Jackson; two brothers, William and Thomas Jackson; and two nephews, Randy Jackson and Steve Summers.
She is survived by her nephews, Jerry B. Summers (Debbie) and Tommy Jackson (Beverly); nieces, Connie Farmer (Jim), Nancy Hays, and Tandy Steen; and several great nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 25th from 4-8 pm and Thursday, September 26th from 1-2 pm at Chattanooga Funeral Home North Chapel, Hixson. There will be a graveside service on Thursday at 2 pm at Hamilton Memorial Gardens with Chaplain Jack Nichols and Pastor Tommy Taylor officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be Melissa Croft, Cindy Lewis, Kim Massengale, Andi Ritchie, Sunday Rogg and Shannon Sneed, who provided excellent care for Margaret for the last six months. The family also extends special appreciation to Sue Beaty and Amy Lodge with Adoration Hospice for their exceptional service.
