It has been 7 years since you left us to go to a better place.  There isn't a day that has gone by that I don't think about you and Daddy.  I miss you both so much but I know you both couldn't stay.  You both are in the presence of the Lord. 

My brother and I often say how blessed we were to have you and Daddy for our parents and we wouldn't trade our childhood for anything.  

I remember all the wonderful times we had, especially when you all came out to visit me in Colorado, all the places we traveled to out west and all the laughter we shared.  You both have been such a blessing to me and although there will always be a void in my life from your absence, I lean on Jesus Christ for the strength to carry on.  

I thank God for letting me be your daughter.  I love and miss you both!

I went to church with the Chapman family and loved to hear Leta sing. She was such a beautiful person. I always loved this poem, it always brought peace and comfort to me when someone I knew went to be with the Lord.

I am standing upon the seashore. A ship, at my side, spreads her white sails to the moving breeze and starts for the blue ocean. She is an object of beauty and strength.
I stand and watch her until, at length, she hangs like a speck of white cloud just where the sea and sky come to mingle with each other.

Then, someone at my side says, "There, she is gone"
Gone where?
Gone from my sight. That is all. She is just as large in mast, hull and spar as she was when she left my side.
And, she is just as able to bear her load of living freight to her destined port.

Her diminished size is in me -- not in her.
And, just at the moment when someone says, "There, she is gone,"
There are other eyes watching her coming, and other voices ready to take up the glad shout, 
"Here she comes!"

And that is dying...

Walt,
 You and Leta have always been my inspiring couple, She was indeed one of a kind.. the kind that every christian should want to be like. We all have been blessed by the both of you. Thank you for all you have done for our community in the valley, All holidays were very special.

My mom always said how beautiful Leta was.  She and Leta and Aunt June are having a blast in Heaven right now.

No one's death comes to pass without making some impression, and those close to the deceased inherit part of the liberated soul and become richer in their humanness.  Mrs. Clepper, the neighbor lady up the street; always with Kool-Aid in the summer and Fudge at Christmas.  Letting the Rock Band practice downstairs was also a testament to her patience.  When I was a child ~ adolescent, she was there when others were not, nurturing and mothering me.  Forty years later and a thousand miles away from the “Hill”, Mrs. Clepper and her gentleness and her love still grow in my heart and my soul. This kind of love only comes through Christ.  I wish I had said this to her earthly spirit. Steve, Lisa, Mr. Clepper, God Bless and thank you for sharing her with the boys of the Hill so long ago.

Leta was the epitomy of a Chrisian lady.She loved her family dearly: husband Walter, son Steve, daughter Lisa and doted on her granddaughter, Lauren. Her service to family and friends was extraordinary.  Her service to her Christ, her Christian family and friends was unequaled. Leta, I want to sit beside you in that Celestial Choir and hear your "clear as a bell" soprano!  When you see Tommy and Ivy, give them a hug for me.

Love and prayers of comfort and grace for all.

My thoughts and prayers go to Walter and her family.  She was a lovely christian lady and will be missed by many.  Pat Schmitt.

All my memories of Aunt Leta are  the best!  I remember one Christmas when I was 4 or 5 years old, she gave a baby doll because all my cousins already had one to hold for a group picture and I was crying because I didn't have one.  She was just so sweet aboout how she went and got a baby for me too and gently soothed me and my hurt feelings.  She was by far nothing but a lady her entie life.  I will miss her unique voice, but will she her again on the streets of gold some day.  I love you Aunt Leta!

Leta was a sweetheart of a gal- a wonderful lady indeed.
