A lifelong resident of Chattanooga, she was a member of Morris Hill Baptist Church and the Joy Class. She enjoyed church, traveling, and doing for others.
She was preceded in death by her parents, R.D. and Sarah Chapman; and sister Vivian Vandergriff.
Survivors include her devoted husband of 61 years, Walter; son Steven Clepper (Kim), Atlanta, GA; daughter, Lisa Ann Martinez (Marty/deceased), Colorado Springs, CO; granddaughter, Lauren Clepper, Atlanta, GA; brother, James Chapman, Ten Mile, TN; niece, Nancy Hoover (Gary); nephew, Richard Vandergriff (Cindy); brothers-in-law Dr. Alan Clepper (Mim), Pine Mountain, GA; Frank Clepper (Betty), Seymour, TN; sister-in-law, Jackie Clepper (Thomas/deceased), Parkersburg, WV; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday and 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. on Saturday at the North Chapel.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 30, in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Bill Mason conducting.
Pallbearers will be Curtis Gravley, John Sullivan, Scott Brockwell, George Eaves, Skip Baldwin, Andy Kinzlow, and Lee Stynchcmbe.
“Miss Leta” and her family want to thank Dr. Stephen DePasquale, his staff and Hospice of Chattanooga for their dedicated efforts and loving care.
