Leora Mae Miller

Leora Mae Miller, 89 of Hixson, Tennessee formerly of Crossville, Tennessee died Monday, January 23, 2023. Leora was born on May 18, 1933, on the family farm near Sterling, Nebraska to Carl and Elsie Michel. She was baptized May 28, 1933, at Immanuel Lutheran Church at Sterling, Nebraska. The family then moved to Kansas for 13 years and then returning to Nebraska. She was confirmed on May 4 at Immanuel Lutheran Church at Sterling, Nebraska. After graduation from high school, she attended Concordia College at Seward, Nebraska and then taught the grades 1 thru 4 at Zion Lutheran School at Bancroft, Nebraska.

On February 14, 1954, she married Lloyd Miller, and they became the parents of four daughters. She worked at Sunstrand Machine Tool at Belvidere Illinois for 27 years. Moved to Crossville in 1995 at Lake Tansi. She was a member of Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church and served on the Altar Guild, Stephen Minister, and Visiting Friends

Survivors include her husband Lloyd Miller, four daughters, Vicki (Joseph) Kybartas of Batavia, Illinois, Wanda (Jon) Spacht of Erie, Colorado, Connie (Harry) Uffalussy of Hixson, Tennessee and Kathy (David) Kulisek of Chattanooga, Tennessee, brother, Arlen Michel of Avoca, Nebraska, 12 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.

Memorial services will be 11:00 am Thursday, February 2, 2023, at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, 1461 Sparta Hwy, Crossville, Tennessee 38572.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Shepherd of the Hills Daycare, 1461 Sparta Hwy, Crossville, Tennessee 38572.
