Kristi first entered the nursing profession after graduating from Our Lady of the Lake Nursing School in Baton Rouge. She had a passion for healthcare, especially infectious diseases. Her work took her all around the country and was something she enjoyed very much. She later attended Auburn University and earned her Bachelors of Nursing, something she was very proud of completing.
Kristi has gone to join her mother, Henrietta Binder Riggs and her grandparents, Frederick and Henrietta Binder and Mary and Robert Riggs Sr. She leaves behind her beloved father Robert Riggs, devoted husband Bob, and treasured daughters Katie (Stewart) Grinton and Sarah (Brian) Luck, along with her two precious granddaughters, Gillian and Piper. She is also survived by her sister, Maggie (Mark) Sneeringer and nieces Meg and Emily.
Kristi had a profound impact on everyone she met. Never one to dwell on her limitations, Kristi continued to educate and teach even from her hospital bed. It is in that spirit that we ask that donations please be made to the Memorial Healthcare Systems Foundation in her memory.
Her family would like to thank all of the medical professionals who contributed to her care and well-being. We are so grateful for the time we had with her. She will be missed in body, but her spirit will live on in all whom she touched.
A memorial service will be held at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home at 4pm Friday November 7, 2014. The family will receive friends afterwards at the chapel. Arrangements are by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson. Please share your thoughts and memories at www.chattanooganorthchapel.com
