Kelly Elizabeth Simon

Kelly is preceded in death by her grandparents Mary and Melvin Hale and Mildred and Homer Swafford.

She is survived by her beautiful and most loved children, Violet Olivia Simon and Talon Oliver Johnson and ex-husband, Shaun Simon; her parents, Judy and Phil Kazemersky and Robert and Pam Swafford; sisters, Dianne Kazemersky, Mary Rose and Caroline Swafford; nephew, Michael Alexander Dashler; sisters-in-law Aimee and Kristin Simon; aunt, Carol Dowd; great uncle and aunt, Dan L. and Nona Morgan; as well as many other aunts, uncles and cousins.

Kelly was a member of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, and was active in her youth group over the years. She grew up on Signal Mountain attending Thrasher Elementary, and later, Notre Dame High school, where she was on the soccer team when they won the State Girl's Soccer Championship and was a cheerleader for the basketball and wrestling teams. She was also on Belk's Teen Board for 2 years an entered Miss Teen Tennessee at 17 years of age, where she was crowned Miss Congeniality. Kelly was on the swimming and diving team for the Signal Mountain Green Giants for 7 years. She attended UTC, and later, cosmetology school. Beginning as a stylist, Kelly soon established her own business called Hair Diva's Salon which she successfully operated for 15 years.

To Kelly, her proudest accomplishment and greatest love were her two children. She was always very involved in their schools and loved to volunteer whenever she could. Violet and Talon were her world.

Visitation will be held on Monday, April 18, at Chattanooga Funeral Home, North Chapel from 3:00 until 7:00 pm. A Trisagion prayer service will be held at 5:30 pm. Funeral services will be Tuesday, April 19, 11:00 am in the chapel of the Chattanooga Funeral Home. Interment will be Spring City, Tennessee. Arrangements are under the care of the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson.
