Katherine “ Granny B” Batson, 91, of Chattanooga, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, May 23, 2011.
She was born in Richmond, Virginia and was a longtime resident of the Chattanooga area. Katherine was a member of Avondale Baptist Church. “Granny B” was well known for her compassion and love for children.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Onsby Batson.
Katherine is survived by her two sons, Kenneth Batson and Wayne Batson; grandchildren, Wade, Kevin and Shaun Batson; great grandson, Chris Batson; close friend, Liz Barham; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday and 12 (noon) to 1 p.m. on Thursday at the North Chapel.
Services for Katherine will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday at the North Chapel. Burial will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
Arrangements are by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist.
