There are no words that I command that can even begin to express my sadness at our loss of Karen.  A truly special young lady who had God's gift of making all those around her feel special as well.  My deepest sympathies to the family.  My thoughts and prayers are with you and her always!

In times like this, I wish I had a magic wand, to change what has passed. But today I know that Karen walks with Angels, and those that have gone before us. You will see her again, where physical life ends, eternal life begins. For Karen's family, find peace in this knowledge. God be with you.

Karen (alias K-Ron at Georgia Perimeter College) shared light and laughter wherever she went.  She made a difference in the lives of so many students and colleagues.

I hope your memories of Karen's light and laughter give you some comfort in the days and years to come.  Please know she was loved and will be missed.

My heart goes out to Karen's family and friends.  I first met Karen at WCU soon after I arrived 3 years ago from Florida. When we chatted about her vacation plans, they often included time on the West Coast of Florida where she would spend time with family. She loved those trips with her loved ones. Blessings on you all. 


To Kenny, the Farmer family, and all who loved Karen: She loved us all mightily. Knowing and working with Karen meant that you knew her family and eventually, she had us all loving her family, too. May the God of Grace comfort and keep you.

KRon was an extraordinary human being, a consummate professional, and a loving friend.  I met Karen in Summer of 2009 at a conference and happily welcomed her to the Georgia Perimeter College Student Life Team shortly thereafter.  She was the best everything.  Her spirit was pure sunshine. Her work ethic was unmatched.  Her passion for life and love were magnetic.  She loved our profession of student affairs and she loved our students.  I am forever grateful that our paths crossed! My heart aches because this lady had given so much to the world already and I know she had so much more to give.    She was a positive light that will forever shine in the lives of many.   To know her was to love her!  

I am saddened to learn of Karen’s passing and will always remember her broad smile and genuine warmth. I extend my deepest sympathies to her family.

Karen’s family and friends are in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. 

I loved Karen. We met at Georgia Perimeter College and she was always smiling and positive. My heart is hurting right now. My condolences and prayers for the family. We love you Karen and you will be deeply missed

As a student at WCU, I greatly appreciated Karens help with my RSO. Her open-door policy allowed me to seek the help and guidance I needed, especially when times became very difficult for myself. She was an active and eager listener who always put forth her best work to ensure the needs of RSOs and the students behind them were met. 

Karen was more than just an employee at WCU. She was great to talk to and always brightened my day when we passed by on campus. She always made a point to stop and chat or give a welcoming hello. My heart goes out to Karens family for such an immeasurable loss. Just know, she touched the lives of many and is someone who had admirable empathy and compassion for others. 

I went to college with Karen and we were sorority sisters together. There is not a memory of Gamma Sig that doesn’t include her in it. She was the kindest and most warm hearted person. She was a friend to everyone and never had a negative or mean thing to say about anyone. She was truly one of a kind. 

I played softball with Karen and went to High school with her. Her smile and spirit lit up every day! She will be terribly missed.

Karen was an influential person of the WCU community. She was a listener, a motivator, a friend, a comedian, and much more. Her inspiration and humble demeanor were truly valuable. She will truly be missed! WCU students love and miss you Karen! We are in utter shock and disbelief but Whee will see you soon!

I went to high school with Karen. She always had the biggest and brightest smile. She was welcoming to all those around her.  I know she will forever be missed! 

I had the pleasure of working with Karen at WCU. Even when I showed up unexpected, Karen always made time to talk with me and was kind and eager to listen. She was a joy to be around and treated you like a real person, not just a colleague. She will be missed by many. May God fill your family with peace and hope during this time. Karen, rest easy.

Karen and I were good College friends. She is the perso  that convinced me to join Gamma Sigma Sigma National Service Sorority.  I love Karen so much and will truly miss her positive, bright, genuine and kind spirit! I am definitely keeping her family in my thoughts and prayers and will miss her dearly!❤

I worked with Karen on and off through the past several years when our positions overlapped.  She was always so helpful, kind, and knowledgeable.  Her family will be in my thoughts and prayers.  She will be missed.

Karen was a vibrant and loving soul. She cared so much about her loved ones. She loved being an aunt to all of her nieces and loved each one of them so very much. I remember that getting to talk to them was a highlight for her day because she cared about them so much. She love all of her family so very much. Her friendship was so valuable and I will forever treasure her and getting the opportunity to work with her and learn from her.  She was so giving, and so loving. 
May God’s angels welcome her into His kingdom of Glory, forever and ever. Amen.

Karen was a sweet and loving person who brought joy to everyone she touched. I will miss her always.

Karen was an incredible woman with so much love and life to share with the world. She could spread sunshine in the darkest of times and brought so much joy to my college years. Between being roommates and all our adventures, she will always have a lasting impact on my life. My prayers are with her entire family now and in the future.
