I'M JUST NOW FINDING OUT "BIG JOHN" PASSED AWAY. I AM STILL IN SHOCK, AND WISHED I HAD A CHANCE TO PAY MY LAST RESPECTS. JOHN WAS A GOOD MAN, A PLEASENT SPIRIT, AND A GREAT CONVERSATIONALIST. HE WILL BE TRULY MISSED, AND IS GREATLY APPRECIATED. MUCH LOVE TO HIM AND HIS FAMILY.

We have known and loved John, Jean, and their sons for many years.  They are part of our sweet North Chattanooga, church family. We have always respected and admired John because he was an honorable man--quietly dependable and always faithful to his family and church.

He was uncle Dan to me. He use to give me piggy back ride's when I was little. I seen him last on 11Aug14.Two hour's after I left his home, I thought about that! While I was there I had to help him out of his chair. It seem strange, he used to give me a ride on his back, and now I had to help him up out of a chair. He also taught me style, around 1960. He taught me to cuff my pant's leg's under and inside my pant's instead of on the outside, and rolled up like they did in the 1950's and before! I have another fond memory when he tried to hide in a ditch, and a couple of men stop to see if he was o.k. I had something to do with that! You made the world a better place, UNCLE DAN! John was one of the finest men I have ever known!! He was a real friend and bless our life many time with his knowledge of the word of God!! Was a great Christian testimony of our Lord Jesus Christ!! God bless the Family!! Praying Psalms 91 for the Family and friends!!

Dale and I have enjoyed John and his family ... the ones that we were around and got to know especially at The North Chattanooga Church of God; now known as The Ministry Center) off of Hamill Road. They were faithful attenders and his son worked  with the boys clubs ( Dale taught & I helped too) ! John will be greatly missed and I appreciate him, his wife and son's help when we visited at AABCO ! Prayers for peace ...

John always seemed to know something he wasn't telling you and always had a sense of humor.  He had bought advertising from me and was pretty loyal in that way, however i am sure me and my family spent more money with him on rebuilt alternators, starters and what not.  I don't remember ever getting the best of him but He was always fair in his dealings.  I never saw a guy carry more petty cash.  I am sure he will be missed by my fellow official Mark Thacker, and the family and friends.  God bless you John.
