Janice was a member of Central Baptist Church of Hixson and retired from DuPont. She was a hairdresser and had a shop in her home for many years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clare Pearl and William Matthew Heard; husband, J. B. White; son, James Michael White; sister, Tince Rogers; brothers, Wayne and William “Dub” Heard.
Janice is survived by her sisters, Frankie Pike of Chattanooga, Joan Wade of Rock Springs, Georgia, and a sister-in-law, Rachel Heard of Ider, Alabama; brothers, Burt Heard of Hixson, and Ralph Heard of Ider, Alabama; She had many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and nephews, great great nieces and nephews who were loved and adored by Aunt Jan or Meemee.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Alan Neergard and Kim Prince who loved her and helped care for her.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 pm on Monday and 11 am to 1 pm on Tuesday, at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.
A Celebration of Janice’s life will follow at 1 pm on Tuesday at the North Chapel with Reverend Randy Bell officiating. Burial will be in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
