Bob was a member of Wauhatchie United Methodist Church and over the years served as the Youth Counselor, Chairman Finance Committee and Administrative Board. He was Co-owner of Ray Brothers Auto Parts for over 44 years.
Bob served in the United States Army from 1949- 1953.
Bob is preceded in death by his parents Annie Ruth Ray and James Riley Ray;siblings
George Bernard Ray, Albert Franklin Ray, Joseph Thomas Ray, Mary Lou Bryant and Francis Elaine Ray
Bob is survived by his wife Rosemarie Martha Ray of Elder Mountain, TN; son James Robert Ray, Jr of Elder Mountain, TN; Daughter Lisa Kelly Pierce of Franklin, TN; sisters Willodean Ruth Dooley and Shirley Lee Roden both of Collinsville, AL; brother Jimmy Leon Ray of Fort Payne, AL; grandsons Jonathan Ray Pierce of Memphis, TN and Randall Weston Pierce of Franklin, TN; granddaughter Jillian Elise Pierce of Franklin, TN.
Bob is also survived by many nieces and nephews as well as beloved friends James and LuAnn Parker, Heather Parker and Hilary Richardson.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 2 ,2014 from 4-7 at Chattanooga Funeral Home-North Chapel and on Sunday from 1-2pm at Wauhatchie United Methodist Church.
The Celebration of Bob’s Life will be conducted at 2 pm on Sunday, May 3 at Wauhatchie United Methodist Church with Reverend Christina DowingSoka officiating
Interment to follow to Hamilton Memorial Gardens
