Jackie McClure

She was a graduate of Hixson High School where she met the love of her life, Harold N. McClure. They were married in 1954 and remained married until his passing in 1991.

Jackie was a longtime member of Hixson First Baptist and also worked at Hixson First Baptist Child Development Center, where she shaped the lives of many children by ministering to them and sharing her love for the Lord in the 33 years of teaching before she retired.

She had many hobbies, but her favorite after her retirement was hand quilting. She presented a special quilt to each of her beloved family members. She was the truest definition of a Christian, selfless in every way. She gave of herself endlessly and will leave of legacy of kindness and virtue. She will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate enough to know and love her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie G. and Maggie Duke; and husband, Harold N. McClure.

She is survived by her two children; Brian McClure, Kim (Mike) Dalton; her granddaughter, whom she loved dearly, Maggie (Thomas) Williams; and great-grandchildren whom she adored, Hallie, Macie and Tripp Williams; and brother, Larry Duke.

The family would like to thank Erica Stepp, who through her caregiving, became a cherished member of the family. We would also like to thank Rebecca Mullis of Hospice of Chattanooga for the special care she provided.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Monday, June 6, 2022 in the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, June 7, 2022 in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Terry Shannon officiating. Burial will follow at Hamilton Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Alzheimer’s Association or Hixson First Baptist Church.
