Mrs. Ina Magdaline Shelton

A lifelong resident of the Chattanooga and Hixson areas, she was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church and a 1954 graduate of City High School in Chattanooga. She retired from Provident Life and Accident Insurance Company and also worked part time at Mitchell Shelton Construction, Inc.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Eunice and Charlie Smith; two brothers, Robert Smith and Edwin Smith; and daughter Cheril S. Edwards.

Survivors include her husband of 51 years, Thomas G. Shelton, daughter Terry (Phil) DeLay, son Mitchell Shelton, son-in-law Kerry Edwards, grandchildren Kristen and Jonathan DeLay, Mary Lynn Edwards and Cody Shelton.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 on Saturday, 2 to 8 on Sunday and 11 to 1 on Monday at the North Chapel.

Services for Mrs. Shelton will be held at 1 on Monday at the North Chapel with Rev. Derreyl Duggar officiating. Burial will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.

The family would like to thank Hospice of Chattanooga for all of their support. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Chattanooga or to Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Middle Valley.
