She was born in Swan Pond, Tennessee and was a 1949 graduate of Rhea Central High School in Dayton. Louise was a longtime resident of the Chattanooga area and retired from The Calvin Baird Company with 38 years of service. She was a member of Brooks Memorial United Methodist Church. Louise was an avid sports fan, especially round ball.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lonnie H. and Goldie W. Moore; siblings, Frances Hyder, Gertrude Swann, Ruth Rawlings, Carl Moore, Dickie Moore, Garland Moore and Irene Mayton.
Louise is survived by her husband who she married on April 1, 1950, Grady Shipley; daughter, Debbie (Tommy) Blake; son, Ted (Cindy) Shipley; brothers, Frank Moore, William “Bud” Moore; sister, Betsy Brooks; granddaughters, Carmen Griffin, Kassidy Lander and Andrea Shipley; six great granddaughters, Cami and Kendall Griffin, MaKenzie, Hailey, Tatum and Josie Lander; many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 pm on Saturday, February 15 and again on Sunday, from 1:30 to 2:30 pm at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.
Services for Louise will follow at 2:30 pm on Sunday at the funeral home chapel with The Honorable and Reverend Sam Payne officiating. Burial will be in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
The family has asked that memorial contributions be made in Louise’s name to Avalon Hospice in Chattanooga who they would like to say Thank You to Hallidee Hunt. The family would also like to thank Grace Hospice in Texas.
Arrangements are by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson.
