Helen was born on February 18, 1925 in Chattanooga, Tennessee, where she spent most of her life. She was married to the love of her life, James A. Millard, for 60 years and they had two sons. She was a devoted wife and mother, an outstanding homemaker and a gracious hostess to anyone who entered her home.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, James A. “Jim” Millard; parents, Charles M. Bowman and Clara B. Cross and a sister, Joyce Jernigan.
Helen is survived by her two sons, James S. Millard and wife Dominique of Nashville, TN and Michael A. Millard and wife Cheryl of Edmond, OK; three grandsons, Jason, Adam and Ryan Millard; eight great grandchildren; brother, Ken Bowman of Chattanooga; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 pm on Wednesday and 10:30 to 11:30 am on Thursday at the North Chapel.
Services for Helen will follow at 11:30 am on Thursday at the funeral home chapel with Reverend Rick Lyles officiating. Burial will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
Arrangements are by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson.
