with her lord and savior, Jesus Christ.
Glenna was born on March 24th, 1944 in Athens, Alabama before her family settled in
Chattanooga, Tennessee. Glenna married her husband, Robert M. Stockburger, an embarked on
a full-time career raising her two children, Gina and Robert D. Stockburger. She was world
renowned for planning numerous Florida family vacations and keeping close eyes on the family
budget by utilizing traveler’s checks. Once she raised her children to adulthood, she reentered
the workforce and became a mother again, this time to the numerous men and women of the
Tri Community Fire Department. For twenty-five years, she held the position as secretary and
always looked forward to being available to assist with the member’s needs, whatever they
may be. While still working with the fire department, she decided she needed more
responsibilities and started a second full time career. This began her role as “G.G.” to her
adoring grandchildren, Katelyn and McKenzie Frye. She never waivered in love towards her
husband, children and grandchildren.
Glenna was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 2015 and fought a hard fight for nearly five years.
She always wanted to return to the fire department but was unable to do so. However, she was
able to still handle her “G.G.” responsibilities. She endured constant battles and always
continued to be positive about her diagnosis and treatment.
Glenna was preceded in death by her parents, Glen King and Irene (Morris) Hatfield.
She is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, Robert M. Stockburger; daughter, Gina (Alan)
Frye and son, Robert (Lilly) Stockburger and grandchildren Katelyn and McKenzie Frye. She is
also survived by her brother, Eddie (Sharon) King, sister Betty Watkins and numerous nieces
and nephews.
The family will hold a private ceremony and plans to have a Celebration of Life at another date
and time. The family requests in lieu of flowers, make donations to the Karen Collins Un-Teal
