She was of the Baptist faith.
Evelyn was a long time employee of Chattanooga Glass Company.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Van Gray; her parents, William Henry and Ollie Mae Barley Waldon; 3 brothers, Charles Waldon, Richard Waldon, and Ed Waldon; and her sister, Odell Waldon.
Evelyn is survived by, 4 daughters, Frieda Gray, Charlene (David) Whitt, Debra Gray, and Janet Kubizak; her son, Gary Gray; her brother, Sam Waldon; 4 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on December 27, 2022, at 2:00 PM in the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, with Pastor Wayland Stewart officiating. Interment will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Monday, December 26, 2022.
