Liz was an amazing nurse and person.  When I first started working as a physician in the PICU at Erlanger in 2009, I was so amazed at the number of experienced nurses and the incredible bond they shared.  Liz had great instincts at the bedside, bonded with families and patients, and was never afraid to be a fierce advocate.   But most of all she was funny, kind, and just enough sarcastic and made going to work more interesting and fun.  She also introduced me to the amazing lunch of haystacks!   I have missed her since leaving Chattanooga for a different job, and I will continue to miss her.  I am so sorry for everyone’s loss.  She was a true star.

I had the pleasure of working with Liz in the NICU at Hamilton.  I was always glad to see her when I came into work. I could always count on her to offer wisdom with decisions and she would always jump in to help when needed.  She was a team player and when things got crazy she would just do what had to be done without complaint. We shared a love for animals and would always keep each other updated on how our babies were doing.   She was a private person but whenever she would mention her kids or grandkids she would glow with pride. She was sweet and kind to everyone. She avoided gossip which showed her trustworthy character.  The world was a better place with Liz in it and she will be missed. My thoughts and prayers are with her family.

Liz was an amazing lady and an incredible nurse! She was one of my mentors in the PICU and she really knew her stuff! This made me want to make sure I knew MY stuff, too, and I’m a better nurse and NP because of the impact she made on me during my years working with her and the amazing PICU nurses. Condolences to her beautiful family, whom she loved so much. Dr. Bryant was also my pediatrician growing up, so to say this family made a huge impact on my life is an understatement! 

Liz was a beautiful person inside & out.  Compassionate & caring for all of a family.  She loved her work & all those involved in the work.  Liz will be sorely missed by all those who loved & cared about her!  RIP beautiful lady!

I loved working with Liz because you could always count on her to go above and beyond providing care for her patients and co-workers. Her dry sense of humor and calm under pressure made her a great mentor to many nurses new to the PICU.  She was one of the best!

Liz was my friend, my PICU coworker and hero. She was everything  a nurse should be. We shared good time, sad times, laughs and tears. She was everything a friend should be.
