Edward J. Quinn, 90, of Harrison died Wednesday, December 25, 2013 at his home. He was born September 30, 1923 in Polk County, Tennessee. He was a son of the late Robert Newton Quinn and Margie Kate Pell Quinn. He was preceded in death by sister Opal Waller; brothers Spence Quinn, Austin Quinn, and Wayne Quinn. He was a member of the North Terrace Church of Christ. Mr. Quinn was a Christian since 1947 and served as an elder in Dayton, Ohio and Chattanooga, Tennessee. Mr. Quinn was a graduate of Polk County High School and was retired from General Motors in Dayton, Ohio.
Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Burma Quinn; children Jon (Barbara) Quinn, a minister of the gospel of Bradley, Illinois , Tim Quinn of Harrison, Tennessee and Sondra (Paul) Pettyjohn, Hixson, Tennessee; grandchildren Melissa Daniels, Nathan Quinn, Emily Anderson, Jake Pettyjohn, Kayla Pettyjohn; great grandchildren Elliot Daniels, LilyAnne Daniels, Sephie Anderson and one due in June; brothers Roy (Dollie) Quinn, Tipp City, Ohio, and Bill (Barbara) Quinn, Ingleside, Texas; sisters Kathy (Claiborne) Kerr, Cleveland, Tennessee, Kay (Henry) Haliburton, Cleveland, Tennessee, and Willie Anna (Steve) Szabo of Cleveland, Tennessee.
Funeral services will be 11:00 am Saturday, December 28 in the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with Evangelist Perry Hurst officiating. Interment will follow in the Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5-7 Friday evening.
