Dorothy P. Wright, 95, went home in the arms of her Lord on September 15, surrounded by loved ones. She had a kind and generous heart always willing to take friends for appointments or help out in any way she could. She worked at Railway Express Agency for 33 years, volunteered at Memorial North Park for 10 years. She was a member at Red Bank Baptist church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Theona Petty; husband, Hoyt Wright; daughter, Mary Penney; twin sister, Doris Birchett; brother, Tommy Petty.
She is survived by her daughter, Christine (Roy) Yother; son-in-law, Gary Penney; grandsons, Scott (Amanda) Yother, Hadden Penney; granddaughter, Shannon (Mike) Loy; great-grandchildren, Brittney Yother and Dillon Yother and several nieces and nephews.
She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 18, 2019 from 4 pm to 8 pm at Chattanooga Funeral Home, North Chapel and again on Thursday from 11 am to 12 pm.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 19, 2019 at 12 pm at the funeral home with Bro. Paul Forgey. Interment to follow at Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
