Dora was born in San Antonio, TX and was a resident of Chattanooga since her youth. She was a graduate of Chattanooga High School, attended U.T.C, and graduated from the University of Alabama.
She was a Presbyterian, a past President of Kosmos Club; founder and President of the Valamont Women’s Club; President of the Florence Crittenton Board, and a Girl Scout Leader.
She worked for many years in her family’s business, Fehn’s Restaurant.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Frieda Fehn and her brother, Alfred Fehn.
She is survived by her husband Harry C. Rice, Jr.; brother, Robert Fehn; sister-in-law, Virginia Fehn, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, July 11 at the North Chapel of the Chattanooga Funeral Home with Pastor Chris Ehlers officiating. Burial will follow at 11:30 a.m. at the Chattanooga National Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, July 10 from 2 – 5 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Alexian Village Scholarship Fund or the American Heart Association.
