Daniel W. Sheppard, Sr., 91, of Chattanooga passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Friday, March 25, 2022. Dan retired from TVA with 40 years of service. He was nicknamed “Do-Be-Do Dan by his fellow co-workers. Dan was an Air Force veteran of the Korean War. Dan loved spending time with his family more than anything. He loved to tell stories and share laughter. Everyone went to him for words of wisdom. He was a lover of sports as well. Dan played golf up until his elderly years. He loved his Kentucky Wildcats and could always be found watching golf, football, basketball, and baseball.
Dan was preceded in death by his son, Daniel “Danny” Sheppard, Jr.; spouses, Marty Sheppard and Ann Sheppard, and step-grandchild, Jessica Stoker.
Dan is survived by daughter, Teri Johnson; son-in-law, Shawn Johnson; grandson, Cruz Johnson (Madi), granddaughters, Kristen Johnson and Hannah Johnson (Chase); and great-grandson, Jace Johnson. He is also survived by sister, Geraldine “Gerri” Thornton; stepchildren, Jeff Stoker (Sharon) and Krista Hoback (Tim); step grandchildren, Josh Hoback (Brandi), Matthew Hoback (Hayley), and Jade Stoker (Coty), Jeffrey Stoker (Heather); and several special step-great grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the staff of Hearth Hospice for their care.
The family will have visitation Monday, March 28, 4-8 p.m., at Chattanooga Funeral Home, North Chapel. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, March 29, 1 p.m. at the funeral home with interment to follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made in Dan’s name to Hearth Hospice, 513 Georgia Ave., Chattanooga, TN 37403.
