Christina “Tina” Mabry Hickman, 71 of Chattanooga, passed away on Saturday, September 25, 2021. A lifelong resident of the Chattanooga area, she was a member of the Church of Christ and was retired from Healthforce as a Medical Assistant.
Tina was a loving and devoted wife, mother, daughter, Nana, employee and friend, and she would do anything she could to help anyone in any way possible. She was a hard worker, and her love and passion for helping others was evident in her work. Before she retired, she made some of her fondest memories working (and laughing) alongside Elmira Sager, NP, who quickly became one of her closest friends.
She loved spending time with her family and friends. For many years during their marriage, Tina enjoyed watching her husband, John, sing and play guitar. They were members of the Strollers Car Club and attended car shows frequently. They were also members of the Wolftever Fishing Club where they enjoyed many summer weekends at their lake cabin. She and John also enjoyed traveling and took countless yearly cruises or trips to Cancun, Mexico with their dear friends, Jim and Janet Roberson.
Tina spent many years traveling with her daughter, Shelley, for baton, dance, pageants and cheer. And once she had grandchildren, there was nothing she loved more than going to watch and cheer them on them in any activities they were involved in. She especially loved her grandson Aidan’s travel baseball family and became a “bonus Nana” to countless kids and their parents.
She was the daughter of the late William Mabry Jr. and Margaret Bolton Jenkins.
Survivors include her husband John H. Hickman; daughter, Shelley Swinney and fiancé Scott Hibberts; three grandchildren, Aidan Swinney, Lana Kate Swinney and Preston Hibberts; brother, Trip (Kay) Mabry; brother-in-law, Jim (Barbara) Hickman, step-mother, Harriett Mabry (Jenks) Parker and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, October 7, 2021 at 1:00 pm at Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 6:00pm to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, October 6, 2021 at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, 5401 Highway 153.
