With sad hearts, the family of Cherry Blossom Fritz announces her passing on December 8, 2020, at the age of 89, after a full and fulfilling life. Cherry was one of ten children born to Pan-Sueh and Chi Lee Lin in Tainan, Taiwan, and a longtime resident of Soddy Daisy, Tennessee.
Cherry is survived by her daughter, Kim Keylon; her daughter-in-law, Robin Fritz; and her granddaughters Raven Keylon, Falyn Keylon, and Courtney Hicks, as well as her sister Eng-Tzu “Cherry Enough” Lin, and numerous other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Bob Fritz; her son, Alan Fritz; and her granddaughter Felecia Fritz.
Hard-working, dedicated, and giving are the best words to describe Cherry. She worked as a waitress at Town & Country Restaurant in Chattanooga for many years. She was an active member of Daisy United Methodist Church and a true believer. Cherry always enjoyed fishing trips and traveling with her husband. They also bowled on leagues and earned numerous trophies together. She visited many countries, and her last great trip was out west to the Grand Canyon. At home, Cherry loved sewing, crocheting, and gardening. She was also talented at cooking and baking. She spoke at least four languages fluently and was passionate about Japanese literature and Taiwanese independence.
Cherry will be deeply missed, but she is now in a better place, without pain, and surrounded by her heavenly family.
We thank everyone who lovingly cared for Cherry during her final weeks.
The graveside service will be private. Visitation will be held on December 12, 2020, from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory & Florist–North Chapel, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson, TN.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Restaurant Workers’ Community Foundation (restaurantworkerscf.org)
