He was a Chattanooga native and graduated from Tyner High School where he was active in multiple sports. Chuck served in the Navy for seven years with three being on board the USS Hugh Purvis. He was stationed in Iceland during the Korean War. Chuck was retired from Mueller Company after 32 years of service. Chuck loved bowling and was a member of the REA Bowling League for 55 years. He was an avid fisherman and outdoorsman. Chuck attended Falling Water Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Babe Davis; brothers, Jim Davis, Bill Davis, Bob Davis and Jack Davis; sisters, Mabel Ryan, Virginia Morgan, Mary Singleton and Martha Lynn Davis.
Charles is survived by his wife of 60 years, Anne “Annis” Davis; godchildren, Carlton and Kent Davis and their families; and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 pm on Sunday, March 27, and 1:30 to 2:30 pm on Monday, at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.
A Celebration of Chuck’s life will follow at 2:30 pm on Monday at the North Chapel with Reverend Tommy Taylor officiating. Burial will be in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
Memorial contributions may be made in Chuck’s name to Falling Water Baptist Church, 523 Roberts Mill Road, Hixson, TN 37343.
