Blanche was born in Jefferson County, Alabama to Pearl Weaks and Woodard Mancel Jarrell on August 9, 1924. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother and the matriarch of her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Guthrie Watts; brother, Mancel Jarrell; sister, Nora O’dell; and sister-in-law, Emma Sue Giles.
She is survived by three daughters, Patricia Gail Watts, Linda Miller and Kathleen Swingle; five grandchildren, Lorrie Miller, Lisa (Troy) Gothard, Lee Miller, Hailey (Ben) Tull, Brent (Sierra) Swingle; six great grandchildren, Alex (Kimberly), Jack, Stella, Piper, Isla and Emmy; sister, Betty J. Cook; sister-in-law, Barbara (Jim) Barker; and a number of beloved nieces and nephews and countless friends.
Blanche enjoyed cooking for her family, yearly family beach vacations and tending to her flowers. She was a member of Central Church of Christ.
The family will receive friends on Friday, September 9th from 11 am to 1:00 pm at Chattanooga Funeral Home, North Chapel, Hixson. The funeral will be in the funeral home chapel Friday at 1:00 pm with David Schonhoff officiating. Interment will follow in Chattanooga Memorial Park.
