She was a graduate of Central High School, Class of 45 and was a member of Epsilon Sigma Alpha- Alpha Beta Chapter since 1958.
Mrs. Jolly enjoyed giving to her community by volunteering her time with St. Jude Children’s Hospital, Catholic Charities, Boehm Birth Defects Center and Orange Grove Center. In her 50 yeas of volunteer service to others, Betty was honored with numerous recognitions and awards including, Women of Distinction, Sertoma Honoree, Volunteer of the Year Award from St. Jude, Fundraiser of the Year Award from The Walter E. Boehm Birth Defects Center and 21 Years of Service Award from Catholic Charities.
Mrs. Jolly was preceded in death by her husband, George Jolly, her parents, Sam and Annie Jones, brother Ralph Jones, and great nephew Spencer Jones.
Survivors include her children, Patricia Hamby Hague, Linda Hamby Dagnan, and Sharon Hamby Lawson; sister, Carolyn Jones Ochoa; grandchildren, Brien Moore, Carol Moore Williams (Brock) and Tobi Crowley; great grandchildren, George Williams, Kate Williams, and Nathaniel Williams, Colby Moore and Ciara Moore; nieces and nephews, Terry Jones (Kathy), Eddie Jones, Connie Jones, Leslie Scoggins and Gina Ochoa.; great nephews, Alvaro Rebora.and Edward Lorin Jones (Martha), great nieces, Gina E Rebora (Roberto), Laura Margaret Jones and Laura Allison Brown.
Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Friday, October 7, 2022 at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 12-2 Friday at the funeral home.
