She grew up in New Hope, Alabama and was the daughter of the late Clarence and Annie Bridges Mitchell. Libby was a graduate of Marshall County High School in Guntersville, Alabama. She has been a resident of the Chattanooga area since 1950 and retired from DuPont with over 41 years. Libby was a member of the Red Bank Church of Christ. She was a member of the Birthday Girls Group, an avid baker and an excellent homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her four siblings, Bud Mitchell, Syble Gwin, Floreeta Patrick, and Euthema Goodson.
Libby is survived by her husband, Glen Rievley; her son, Danny (Donna) Kitchings; grandson, Caleb (Heather) Kitchings; great grandchildren, Landon and Audrey Kitchings; and step-son, Mark (Juanita) Rievley; sister, Lillian Botos and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 pm on Sunday, November 13, at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.
A Celebration of Libby’s life will follow at 3 pm on Sunday at the North Chapel with Elder Mark Beckham officiating. Burial will be private in National Cemetery.
