Al was born in Birmingham, Alabama and was a graduate of Georgia Tech University where he received his degree in Electrical Engineering. He served in the U. S. Navy on active time and reserve time for over 28 years, during World War II, the Korean War and retired as Captain. He retired from TVA with over 33 years of service as Director of Power Marketing. Al worked for 10 years as Senior Utility Consultant with Allen and Hoshall Engineers. He served as President of Bicentennial Volunteers Inc., a group of over 2000 retired TVA employees, working as volunteers in professional and civic activities. Al was a member of First Baptist Church Golden Gateway and the Waters Sunday School Class.
Al was preceded in death by a son, Billy Daniels.
He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Iris Daniels; daughter, Jackie (Kevin) Kirsche, Athens, Georgia; sons, Danny (Bunny) Daniels and Bobby Daniels, both of Nashville; 12 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday at the North Chapel.
Services for Al will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday at the North Chapel with Rev. Don Givens and Dr. Thomas Quisenberry officiating. Burial will follow in National Cemetery with full military honors.
