Virginia "Ginny" Cheek of White Lake passed away September 8, 2023 at 76 years of age.
Treasured daughter of the late Curtis and Mossie Cheek. Beloved sister of Brenda (Barry) Byrd. Cherished aunt of Robin Byrd. Niece of Glenn (the late Nancy) Cheek and Patti (the late Larry) Gates. She is also survived by several loving cousins.
Ginny, also known as "Ducky" to her family and friends was a long time librarian at Wooddale Elementary School in Farmington for 37 years. She loved sewing, quilting and cross stitching. She also enjoyed watching soap operas and the Hallmark Channel. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00pm on Thursday, September 14, 2023 at the Highland Chapel of the Elton Black & Son Funeral Home, 3295 E. Highland Road. The family will receive friends from 11:00am until the time of the service at 1:00pm. Ginny will then be reunited with her parents on Friday, September 15, 2023 at Ottawa Park Cemetery in Clarkston.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
