Valerie Lynn Smith, age 59, of White Lake, died Monday, September 28, 2020, at her home. Left to cherish her memory are her children: Melissa (Aric Piercey) Morris, and Willard (Alaina) Smith, Jr.; her four grandchildren: Payton and Lexie Morris, and Faith and Emma Rose Smith; her mother, Violet Conger; her sister-in-law, Kathy; and her nephew, Andy.
Valerie was born July 26, 1961, in Tifton, Georgia, the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Wilburn and Violet (Hyde) Conger. She was a devoted member of the Beulah Missionary Baptist Church in Novi, Michigan for many years. In her free time, Valerie enjoyed spending time with her family and friends; especially her four grandkids! She was a remarkable woman who will be missed by many.
Valerie was preceded in death by her father, Wilburn; her brother, Jerry Conger; and her sister, Deborah Conger.
A funeral service will take place at 11:00 am on Saturday, October 3, 2020, at the Elton Black & Son Funeral Home Highland Chapel, 3295 East Highland Road, Highland, Michigan 48356. Pastor Tom Holowood will officiate. Valerie’s family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday morning from 10:00 am until the time of service. Burial will follow at All Saints Cemetery, 4401 Nelsey Road, Waterford Twp., Michigan 48329. Those desiring may consider memorial contributions to the Beulah Missionary Baptist Church. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
