Stephen Donald Wolfe, age 75, passed away July 19, 2023, after a long illness. Steve was born in Detroit, and was a resident of Waterford and White Lake for 40 years. He was a Naval veteran serving in Vietnam aboard the USS Mt. Baker. Steve was a landscape architect who honed his skills working for the family business, Wolfe’s Landscape Company, formerly of Highland, Michigan.
Having spent numerous years outside, Steve developed a love for nature and science. He spent his free time transforming his own yard into beautiful gardens, reading National Geographic, and watching nature shows. Steve and his wife, Katherine, traveled to many countries and while in foreign lands, Steve was found admiring the flora around him.
Steve is survived by his wife, Katherine; his siblings, Mary Hockey, Marlene Carey, and John Wolfe; his children, Wendy (Doug) Warwick, Keliann (Michael) Johnson, and Jason (Lauren) Tiefenback; and his grandchildren, Sierra Warwick, Abigail and Benjamin Johnson, and Bryce and Morgan Tiefenback.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Catherine (Hawkins) Wolfe; his siblings Catherine Thompson, Janine Wolfe, and Robert Wolfe; and his son Matthew Tiefenback.
In accordance with Steve's wishes, cremation will take place. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, July 29, 2023, at the Highland Chapel of the Elton Black & Son Funeral Home, 3295 E. Highland Road, Highland, Michigan 48356. Steve's family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Saturday from 10:00 am until the time of service at 11:00 am. An inurnment will take place at Ottawa Park Cemetery in Clarkston on Wednesday, August 2, 2023.
