Rose Osborne, age 94; of White Lake; passed away Tuesday, August 8, 2017. She was born on March 12, 1923 in Des Moines, Iowa, and was the daughter of the late John and Nora Campbell. She was the loving wife of the late Walter “Bud” Osborne for over 64 years, dear mother of Virginia (William) Cooper, Laurie West, Donna Goodrich, and Michael Osborne, and the late Lynn Joseph Osborne; proud grandmother of eight; great-grandmother of three. She was preceded in death by her parents and four siblings.
Rose worked as a dispatcher for the White Lake Fire Department for several years, then became a floral designer. She was an active member of White Lake Presbyterian Church, where she volunteered in many capacities, and was an energetic volunteer for the White Lake Goodfellows. She enjoyed bowling, playing the organ, and cheering for the Detroit Tigers.
The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, August 15, 2017 at the White Lake Presbyterian Church, 4805 Highland Rd., White Lake. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. on Monday at the Highland Chapel of the Elton Black & Son Funeral Home, 3295 E. Highland Rd., Highland. Mrs. Osborne will lie in State at the church on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will at in the Ottawa Park Cemetery, Clarkston. In lieu of flowers, Rose’s family requests that memorials in her name by made to her church, or to the White Lake Township Goodfellows, P.O. Box 143, Union Lake, MI 48387.
