Rita Frances Valente

Beloved wife of Dario for 71 years. Loving mother of Mark (Laura), Joseph (Charlene), Vincent, Mary and Paul Valente. Proud grandmother of 7 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. She is also survived by her sister, Ruth Thomas. Sadly she is preceded in death by her her son and daughter-in-law, Michael (Bonnie) Valente and three siblings, Ronald, Phyllis and Bernard Bridon.

Mrs. Valente was a member of St. Dominic Chapel in Highland. She enjoyed painting, sewing, playing the piano and was a professional cake decorator who specialized in wedding cakes. She will be very much missed by all.

A funeral mass will be held at 10:00am on Monday, November 7, 2022 at St. Dominic Chapel*, 765 N. Hickory Ridge Road in Highland. Viewing will be held at Saint Dominic Chapel, from 8:45 a.m. until shortly before the 10:00 a.m. funeral Mass begins. There will be a Rosary service at 9:20am. Interment will immediately follow the funeral at All Saints Cemetery in Waterford, Michigan.

In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested donations may be made to St. Dominic Chapel in memory of Mrs. Rita Valente.

*Dress Code for Wakes and Funerals at St. Dominic Chapel is as follows:

Ladies must wear dresses or skirts at least covering the knee, with at least short sleeves, not low-cut in either front or back, nor exceedingly tight; they are also requested to wear a head covering in the church. No slacks, please. Men must wear both a jacket and a tie.

All are kindly asked to observe a reverential silence while in church.
