We were sorry to hear about Nelson.  Renee Riopelle E-mailed us.  You never know what each day will bring, so we all have to live each day in joy and love each other.  

Say Hi to Nancy, Scott and Angelin.  We are a family of 16 now, 8 grandchildren.  Britta lives in Belleville on the lake, we are in Detroit, and Khris and Trina live in Farmington Hills.

I can not express how saddened I am by your loss.  I pray each night that God wraps his arms around each and every one of you.  There will never be a day  that I won't remember how Nelson could make everyone laugh.  He will be missed by many.  My hope is you can someday find peach in the life you all shared. Im sorry for your loss. I dont remember him. But im sure he was a special guy . Due to all his friends. My he rest in peace. And my prayers go to his family.

The trip up north, the bonfires, the crazy times we all had going out on the town... The best part is that we all laughed so hard that everyone would look at us wherever we all went.  We will cherish those memories. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Nelson wasn't just a good friend - he was like a brother. He and I shared so many experiences growing up together.... I will be telling some of those stories for years! He always new how to make people crack up and yet was always there as a friend to talk too. My prayers go out to you and your family. I'll miss you brother!!!!

I first met Nelson at Bonaventure 27 years ago when i became a regular weekender at the rink & Chris has known Nelson since 1982 or 1983 when Carl & Nelson were doin' the "Radio Wars". (Remember Nelson's Chevette w/ the loud system?) He was always upbeat & had a wonderfully infectious smile. We are so glad we finally got reconnect with Nelson after way too many years apart. It was so amazing that 17 years had passed since we last saw him, but it was like all of us had never been apart. Our sincere condolences to his wonderful family. He will be missed by all who knew him.

I met and worked with Nelson for several years and there was not a more sincere and true friend.  His happiness infected everyone around him, and we all will miss him.

I met Nelson in the early 90's rollerskating. Nelson was an all around great guy and had many friends. My deepest heartfelt condolences go out to Nelsons family and friends.

There's no one else in the world who I can say that "my only memories of him are good ones". There's no one else in the world who I've told "You're a better friend than I deserve". I know I speak for a great many people when I say I wish I could see him again, just one last time. 

Kari, Amber & Alyssa - I know that, despite your pain at the moment, there is a God, and he is great - so I know that Nelson isn't really gone. Someday you'll be together again, and inseparable. My family and I are praying for you until then.

Goodbye to an old skating friend.  Rink Rats will miss your circling smile around the local skating hangouts.  Kari, Alyssa & Amber, my prayers for your peace & understanding are spoken often.

To be around Nelson was to be in good spirits. Personally, I could not be in the same room with him, without both of us laughing about anything and everything. There was never a dull moment. We hadn't seen each other in years until we hung out on St Patrick's Day, this year. It was like we were kids again. Every moment was filled with laughter. Tears streamed our faces from laughing so hard. I am so glad we had that one last day together.

We are so sorry to hear about Nelson.  You and the kids have weighed heavy on our minds and in our hearts since we found out on Saturday night.  We have wonderful memories that we will hold close to heart.  You and the girls are and will continue to be close in our hearts and prayers.
