Michael Kent Stanley, age 70, of White Lake, passed away Monday, August 8, 2022, at his home. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Mary; his two daughters: Jessica (Bryan) Stowinsky, and Brooke (Craig Thompson) Prater; his seven grandchildren: Brooklyn, Bryan, Jr., Charles, Jonathan, Jacob, Miles, and Sydney; his mother, Betty Stanley; his two brothers: Douglas (JoEllen) Stanley, and Randy (Connie) Stanley; his sister, Pam (Dave) Maxwell; and many loving nieces and nephews.
Michael was born May 7, 1952, in Detroit, the son of Mr. & Mrs. Clyde and Betty (Reavis) Stanley. Michael met the love of his life, Mary Kostecke when the two were in high school together. Michael and Mary were eventually married on May 17, 1975, sharing forty-seven wonderful years together. Michael spent his professional life working as a millwright and a union representative for Ford Motor Company; devoting thirty-two years to his trade until his retirement in 2007. Above all, Michael was devoted to his faith in God. He was an Elder at Faith Lutheran Church in Highland, where he was a member of the congregation for thirty-four years. In his free time, Michael enjoyed playing the guitar in the band “M.A.R.R.’s” Michael also enjoyed spending time tending to his yard and working in his garden. He was a wonderful man who will be greatly missed.
Michael was preceded in death by his father, Clyde Stanley.
In accordance with Michael’s wishes, cremation will take place. A Memorial Service will take place at 3:00 pm on Friday, August 19, 2022, at Faith Lutheran Church, 3501 E. Highland Road, Highland, 48356. Michael's family will receive visitors at the church on Friday from 1:00 pm until the time of the Memorial Service at 3:00 pm.
