Born to Nicholas and Marie Battista in Detroit on July 6, 1940, Joyce lived a life full of love, dedication, and cherished memories.
Joyce was married to her beloved husband Archie Sanderson for 48 years until his passing. After retiring, she found joy in her work at Kohl's, where she formed lasting friendships with her colleagues. Golfing with friends brought her great pleasure, and she enthusiastically participated in a league for many years. Joyce dedicated her time to community service as a vote counter for Oakland County and was a devoted member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church.
Family was at the center of Joyce's life, and she delighted in gathering with loved ones, especially her grandchildren whom she adored and spoiled with affection. Known for her industrious spirit, Joyce always kept herself busy with household projects and took pleasure in attending crafting and cooking classes to further her skills. In the quiet moments of her evenings, Joyce found comfort in watching "The Golden Girls," a show that brought her laughter and warmth.
Joyce is preceded in death by her husband Archie Sanderson; parents Nicholas and Marie Battista; grandson Alex Sanderson; and brother-in-law Max Campbell.
She is survived by her children Steven Sanderson, Brian Sanderson, Jeffrey (Noel) Sanderson, and Michael Sanderson; grandchildren Kyle, Eric, Abriana, and Nick; and siblings Annette "Tootsie" (Carl) Ludwiczack, Linda Campbell, Dennis Battista, and Cecilia (Bruce) Pyszora.
An instate will be held on Saturday, August 17, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM with Memorial Mass beginning at 11:00 AM at Catholic Church of the Holy Spirit, located at 3700 Harvey Lake Rd, Highland Charter Twp, MI 48356.
