Rex and I are so sad to hear of  the passing of John. He and Ruth both have a special place in our hearts always.  We will keep John's family in our prayers. Ruth know you have friends from a while back who care .  Praise our Loving God he made a way for all of us to be together with him in time.. prayers and hugs.

John obviously touched the lives of so many people and was loved by all.    John lives on through his family and friends.  Our hearts are with you at this time.  Sending love and peace.

We will miss you John! My boys grew up with you taking them tubing on Maceday lake and having pizza afterwards. They loved playing games at your house. We loved having you over on the 4th of July. We had New Years eve together playing Fishbowl. You named us the Super parents and the kids the Losers.  I still have your handwritten scorecard. We had so much fun we missed midnight and realized later it was a new year.  You fought so hard and we all hoped you would be around for years to come. Thanks for always being there for Chad, Chase and Colby. We will miss you!!

I still remember the day we met the Carlton’s.  We had just moved into the house across the street and John and Ruth came over to welcome us.  Our kids shared lots of wonderful memories playing together .  In the summer John was always on kid duty when they were riding bikes in the street .  John was  such a loving husband and father who loved the Lord with all his heart .  He amd my husband use to have many mailbox chats ! We will miss you.  Love and prayers to all. Rex amd Gina 

John was one of the kindest person I have ever met, he was salt of the earth. He was always so good to our son when he played soccer for him. John touched Seths life in such a positive way and for that Lori and I will always be grateful. RIP John thank you for being you.

To John’s family,
John and I hired in at Little Caesar’s Arena at the same time.  We had the opportunity to chat about many things, most importantly, we were both teachers.  We had common views of our beloved chosen profession.  We shared our common love for the children we had the pleasure and blessings to have been part of their lives.  A crowning glory, John told me, he had a very fine student named Dylan Larkin in
class.  I said Whoa, how exciting that was.  We talked from time to time and then John took a leave of absence from LCA.  We kept in touch and I thought of him often enough to give him a call and send along my very best wishes as he valiantly fought his disease.  

I am so sorry to hear of his passing.  Through the years I gained a friend, sadly only verbally and through social media.  I’m sending all of you my sincerest condolences.  May John Rest In Peace and let his name and memories be a blessing fo all of you.

My condolences to the Carlton family. I had the pleasure of working with John at Mason. He was loved by all and truly cared about the kids. He was a kind and caring coworker that made coming in to school easy. Know that he touched many lives and will be watching over all of you. Sending prayers for peace.


My deepest sympathies to the Carlton family.  As a long time colleague of John, I can tell you that teaching in the classroom next to his was  one of the most incredibly inspirational experiences.  Every day I heard children loving learning due to his exceptional teaching and care.  I will never forget the numerous life lessons he taught me about caring, positivity, and so much more.  He will truly be missed by the many lives he made better because of his talent and dedication.

John was a loving and kind good Christian man who made you feel at ease just by saying hello. He had a warmth about him and a passion for family that will be truly missed. My heart goes out to Ruth and the family after such a long struggle the joy that he is in paradise with our loving Savior. May God comfort and bless the family in the hours and days to come

John was a hero to me. He was always a positive influence. I would go to visit him and end up being the one who was blessed with his great attitude and caring ways. May he fly with the angels. A truly awesome man who made this world a better place.
