James Tierney

James Tierney of Clarkston, formerly of Highland, passed away February 2, 2018 at 81 years of age. Beloved husband of Karen for 53 years. Loving father of Laurie (David) Duncanson, John (fianceé Michelle Smith) Berlin and Jim (Lisa) Tierney. Proud grandfather of Joshua (Nikki), Shelbi, Jesse, Heather, Emily, Paige and one great grandson, Lincoln. Brother of George (Diane) Tierney. Brother-in-law of Richard Forbes. Also survived by his caregiver, Janice McDonald along with many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his brother Patrick Tierney and sister, Margaret Forbes.

Mr. Tierney was a veteran of the British Army. He was an avid fisherman and hunter and a member of the Milford, Waterford and Clarkston Woodcarvers Club.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at the Highland Chapel of the Elton Black & Son Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 2-8 pm. Interment at Highland Cemetery. Memorial contributions suggested to the American Heart Association, the Milford Woodcarvers Club or the Michigan United Conservation Clubs.
