James Edward Bieniek, known affectionately as Jim to his friends and family, passed away peacefully on March 31, 2025, in Brimley, Michigan. Born on July 10, 1955, in Detroit, Michigan, Jim was a man whose presence brought warmth and joy to those around him. He was a loving father, a cherished grandfather, a devoted brother, and a friend to many. Jim's life was a testament to the love and care he provided to his family and the dedication he had for his work and hobbies.
Jim was the proud father of James Thomas Bieniek, Melissa Lynn Walach, Vincent Edward Bieniek, and the late Kimberly Christina Bieniek. His role as a grandfather was one he cherished deeply, and he leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter to Dameian Martin Paielli, Jonathan Hayden Walach, Benjamin James Walach, and Dylan Blank. His siblings, Gerald "Jerry" (Susan) Bieniek, and Cheryl (Butch) Cibasek, will hold dear the memories of the times they shared. Jim was preceded in death by his loving parents, Watson and Virginia Christine Bieniek (née Stosik), and he now joins them in eternal rest.
After graduating from high school, Jim furthered his education by earning an associate's degree. He began his career as a mechanic, but it was at the age of 18 that he found his calling as an electrician at The Ford Motor Company at the Rouge Plant. Jim dedicated his skills and hard work to Ford until his retirement in 2004. His dedication to his craft was matched only by his love for the Ford Mustang. Over the years, Jim owned several models, including the Boss 429, and Mach I, Cobras and he relished every moment spent behind the wheel of these American classics.
Jim's faith as a Catholic was an integral part of his life, providing him with guidance and comfort. He was a man who enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, like the thrill of a fishing trip or the joy of cooking his authentic Polish cuisine, with Golabki being a family favorite. His love for classic rock provided the soundtrack to many of the cherished moments he spent tinkering in his pole barn or taking road trips to destinations like Clearwater, Florida to visit his brother, and North Carolina for the Ford Mustang 50th Anniversary.
Perhaps one of the most endearing aspects of Jim's life was the special bond he shared with his grandchildren. The games of "Moo-Moo" and Peanut Farm he played with his grandson Dameian were filled with laughter and love, creating memories that will be treasured forever. Jim's ability to fix anything made him the go-to handyman in the family, and his friendly demeanor ensured he was always surrounded by friends and loved ones.
Above all, Jim was a family man. His greatest joy was spending time with his children and grandchildren, whether it was on a road trip, in the kitchen, or just sitting together in the yard. He embodied the words of Helen Keller: "The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched - they must be felt with the heart."
Jim Bieniek was a loving, handy, and friendly man who touched the hearts of all who knew him. His legacy will continue to live on through the memories he has created with his family and friends. His spirit, characterized by his dedication to his family, his passion for his work, and his zest for life, will forever be remembered and cherished. Jim's life was a beautiful journey that enriched the lives of those he encountered, and his memory will be held in the hearts of many for years to come.
