Gilbert W. Day, formerly of Clawson, age 87, passed away on Tuesday, June 7, 2017. Beloved husband of the late Florence Day. Loving father of Gilbert (Denise) Day, Mary (Dennis) Kneale, Vickie (James) Worden, and Arthur (Carolyn) Day. Proud grandfather of 16. Dear great-grandfather of 24. Loving great-great-grandfather of 3. He worked at Detroit Public Works in Royal Oak and attended the Church of Christ in Madison Heights. He enjoyed reading his Bible, working on puzzles, working outside, and visiting with neighbors. Visitation will be on Sunday, June 11, 2017 from 2:00 pm until 7:00 pm at the Highland Chapel of the Elton Black and Son Funeral Home, 3295 E. Highland Road, Highland. The Funeral Service will be on Monday, June 12, 2017 at 11:00 am also at the funeral home. Interment will be at Christian Memorial Cemetery, 521 E. Hamlin Road, Rochester Hills. Memorial contributions can be made to a charity of one's choice.
