Beloved husband of Shirley for 66 years. Loving father of Scott (Lisa) Martin, Timothy (Cynthia) Martin, Michael (Sheri) Martin and Bonnie (John) Tabaczynski. Proud grandfather of 17 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren. Brother-in-law of Carolyn Martin. He is preceded in death by his siblings, Peggy Baker, Fred Martin and Bob Martin
Mr. Martin was an Army Veteran. He loved his motorhome and camping with his family, the campers club, and many friends throughout his lifetime. He enjoyed hunting and was a proud member of "The Foster Dump Hunt Club". On vacations and later in retirement, he enjoyed surf fishing at the ocean in both Myrtle Beach and Florida. He was a sports fan who supported the local Detroit teams and the Michigan State Spartans. Among his many interests he watched Indy car racing. Franklin was a model railroad enthusiast and after retirement he created an extensive train board in his basement. He was humble, kind, loving and funny. He will be very much missed by all.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 9, 2024 from 3:00pm until 7:30pm at the Highland Chapel of the Elton Black & Son Funeral Home, 3295 E. Highland Road, in Highland, MI
A Memorial Mass will be held Wednesday, July 10, 2024 at St. John Catholic Church, 2099 N. Hacker Road in Howell. The family will receive friends from 11:00am until the time of the mass at noon.
Inurnment along with military honors will take place following mass at 2:00pm at Great Lakes National Cemetery, 4200 Belford Road in Holly.
