Loving husband of Betty for 50 years. Dear father of Allen (Rose) Cassatt, Robert (Annette) Cassatt, Sharon (Jorgji) Prifti, Chip (Leah) Cassatt, Mark (Cindy) Cassatt, Donn (MaryJo) Redford, Mark (Jan) Redford, Barb (Tim) Paulsen and Lisa (Karl) Heck. He is also survived by several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Brother of William and the late Neil Redford. He is also survived by his "Special" extended family Debbie and Mike DeCraine, Doug, Andrea and Cameron and his dear dogs, Mikey and Molly.
Donald was an Air Force Veteran and former member of Lempke-Blackwell VFW Post 7573 where he and his wife were past commanders. He will be very much missed.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, January 14, 2023 at the Highland Chapel of the Elton Black & Son Funeral Home, 3295 E. Highland Road. The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 12, 2023 and Friday, January 13, 2023 from 2:00pm until 8:00pm. There will be a VFW service Friday evening at 6:00pm. Interment along with military honors will take place at Oakland Hills Memorial Gardens in Novi.
