Diane Marie Ward

Diane Marie Ward, age 77, of Highland, passed away Thursday, September 1, 2022, at her home. Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband, Phillip Ward; her three children: Nanette (Brian) Duggan, Joseph (Carol) Molina, and Holly (John) Slattery; her step-children: Jennifer (Louis) Everett, Latasha (Joe) Clark, Phillip Jr. (Christine) Ward, and James Ward; her grandchildren: Randy Roughton, Nathan Roughton, Nicholas Roughton, Joshua (Allie) Duggan, and her special grandson, Jareb Duggan; her great-grandchildren: Karter Nicholas Roughton, Elliott Scot Roughton, and another on the way; her two siblings: Sally Stevens and Larry Stevens; and her beloved dog, Bullet. Diane was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Barbara Stevens; and her brother, James Stevens.

Diane was born April 14, 1945, in Pontiac, the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Robert and Barbara (Sheridan) Stevens. Throughout her life, Diane worked as an assembly worker at General Motors. She was incredibly proud of her thirty years of service at GM; Diane retired in 1991, eager to spend time with her family. Diane was a wonderful mother and grandmother; she lived life with her grandchildren and family close by. Her fondest memories were made watching Randy, Nathan, Nicholas, Joshua, and Jareb grow up. In her free time, Diane could always be found working on a crafting project, or tending to her flower gardens. She was a wonderful woman who will be dearly missed.

Memorial Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 7, 2022 from 12:00pm until the time of the Memorial Service at 1:00pm at the Highland Chapel of the Elton Black & Son Funeral Home, 3295 E. Highland Road, Highland.
