Caroline M. Foster

Caroline M. Foster, age 83 of Commerce Twp., passed away Wednesday, December 14, 2011. She is survived by her children; Karen Shelters, Stephanie Jones, Catherine Eisert and Jerry (Janet) Foster; 6 grandchildren and her sister Sylvia Grosso. She was preceded in death by her husband Edward, who passed away in 1996 and to whom she was happily married for 45 years. Caroline was born in Detroit, and spent most of her life in the Milford/Highland area. She was a devoted wife and adoring mother, juggling a freelance art career with raising 4 kids. She loved to entertain, loved people and socializing, and was known as great cook and hostess. She was a talented artist and worked in the Medical Arts field as an Illustrator for many years. Caroline and Ed were well known in Milford and had many wonderful friends. As a widow, Caroline developed a warm relationship with long time family friend George Trites, who passed away in 2010. A Memorial Service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 8, 2012 at the Highland Chapel of the Elton Black and Son Funeral Home, 3295 E. Highland Rd., Highland, MI. The family will receive visitors on Sunday from 4:00 p.m. until the time of service
