He is survived by his children, Brenda (Mark) Hudson, William Henry (Christine) Green Jr. and Richard A. (Abby Weiss) Green; grandchildren, Keith (Amber) Hudson, Rachel (Brady) Holderread, Sorrah Green, Stephanie Johns, Elaina (Josh) Wolfe, William Green and Benjamin (Ann Stachnik) Green; great grandchildren, Trey Simmons, Alexis Hudson, Logan Gernenz and Chase Holderread; brothers, Bob (Nancy) Green, David (Belinda) Green and John (Carol) Green; stepsons, Michael (Kathy Seeber) Zaideman, Bryan (Cindy) DeMass and Paul (Kelly) DeMass and many extended members of the family.
Preceded in death by his first wife, Carol Joan Green, and second wife, Nancy Ellen Green, and a brother, Donald (late Joyce) Green.
Bill was born July 12, 1932 in Murphysboro, IL to the late Ford Elia and Anna Mae Green. He proudly served our country in the US Army as a paratrooper during the Korean War. Bill owned and operated B&C Machining in Griffith, IN for 15 years. Bill retired to Florida where he volunteered for the next 20 years with the Shriners as the Director of Children's Services and also served as Past Master of the Leesburg Masonic Lodge. Bill also volunteered his time building wooden pathways at Camp Boggy Creek for children in wheelchairs to allow them access to the nature preserves. Bill was an active member of Salem United Methodist Church in Hebron, IN. He loved to snowmobile, boating, motorcycle riding, golfing, taking a drive in his antique autos and woodworking.
Bill was a loving son, brother, husband, father and grandfather and will truly be missed by all whose lives he touched.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, September 26, 2020 at 12:00 PM at Kuiper Funeral Home (9039 Kleinman Road Highland, IN) with Rev. Thomas Clark officiating.
Entombment to follow at Memory Lane Memorial Park, Crown Point, IN.
Friends are invited to meet with the family on Saturday morning from 10:00 AM until time of the service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Shriners Children's Hospital or to St. Jude.
Masks are required for attendance at the funeral home and cemetery.
