Robert L. Bigger

Robert L. Bigger, age 79, of Highland, IN passed away Sunday, July 31, 2016. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Loretta “Laurie” (nee Ems); two sons: Tim Bigger and Richard (partner Ken Menz) Bigger; two daughters: Carrie (Mike) Hemphill and Ellen (Ron) Moss; five grandchildren: Steven and Ashley Moss, Adam and Janie Bigger and Alan (Tosha) Burns; four great grandchildren: Breyanne, Rebekah, Seth and Emma Lee; brother, Wayne (Sue) Bigger; four sisters: Reva (Don) Burger, Eunice Gagnon, Shirley (Herschel) Ellis and Frances Keller; special aunts: Dorothy Pilant and Norma Bemis; and many dear cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents: Roland Bigger and Ressa(nee Mullens) Raley; and two children: Teresa and Ronald Bigger. Funeral services will be held Friday, August 5, 2016 at 11:30 a.m. at Kuiper Funeral Home, 9039 Kleinman Road (two blocks south of Ridge Road) Highland, IN with Pastor Steve Jones officiating. Interment will follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, Schererville, IN. Friends are invited to meet with the family Thursday, August 4, 2016 from 4:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. at Kuiper Funeral Home. Mr. Bigger retired from Inland Steel with 35 years of service. He was a member of the Cornerstone Baptist Church. He enjoyed his grandchildren’s sports activities and looked forward to his family functions. Robert spent quality time with his church family and listening to Pastor Steve’s sermons.
